The Thunder EKO ‘ Safety Racer’ is powered by a readily available 49cc mini moto engine complete with electric start and automatic clutch! You can buy it direct from our UK suppliers for just £99!
The EKO has geared steering and disc brakes plus a cable operated handbrake.
The car's styling is designed to be an 'Echo' of the 50's era of track cars, such as Vanwall and BRM.
The car is assembled from parts using our 'Build Pack' containing full size paper cutting templates.( patterns) full instructions and a build manual clearly explaining each stage of the build.

Simple construction using one sheet of plywood for the floor, 2 (pre-styled!) compost bins to form the body and four mudguards cut from a water butt using templates.
These robust plastic parts can be painted using plastic primer.

Full size paper cutting patterns with overwritten instruction and fixing details.
A comprehensive build manual with step by step instructions, large colour photos and drawings of each stage of assembly.
It shows you everything you will need to know. You can make some parts yourself, buy them from our parts list or source your own on line or locally.
This would suit if you have access to quite a lot of hardware.

I went with the 49cc petrol engine with electric start. I’m a pure petrol head! Yes I decided to loose the mudguards I think it looks sleeker like the old cigar shaped racer of early times. I used led lights front and rear and also a moped horn! Yes please use the photos as you wish. It took just a little over 12 months but I moved house and it took a back seat for around 4 of those!
